About UsDescriptionOverview: The Hyatt Place / Hyatt House Complex is a dual branded property which mixes the extended-stay, residential-style rooms of the Hyatt House and the modern and comfortable style rooms of the Hyatt Place. All rooms offer the comforts of home such as flat panel HDTVs and free high-speed internet access. Our public space features a pool, fitness center and business center.--Job Description: The Accounting Clerk is responsible for all areas relating to financial reporting. This position will be responsible for following all accounting principles, practices and procedures under direction of the accounting manager to ensure accurate and timely financial statements. This position addresses tight deadlines and a multitude of accounting activities including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and support the year-end audit preparation. Your most important responsibility is to provide quality, value-added professional service that meets or exceeds our internal customers value expectations.Essential duties and responsibilities include the following:--------------

  • Review and Post A/P invoices
  • Maintain files for Paid and Unpaid invoices
  • Assist in researching expense variances
  • Perform General Ledger research
  • Prepare 1099s
  • Assist in document retrieval for annual audit
  • Support Accounts Receivable efforts including
    • Filing of appropriate documents
    • Research billing support requests
    • Posting of Hyatt Rewards redemptions
    • Tracking Chargebacks
      • Provide support to the month end closing process as requested by Accounting Manager
      • Provide support for fellow team members in the Hotel including reports, invoice research, filing
      • Assist with Payroll Education and/or Experience:
        • High school diploma or equivalent required, college degree preferred
        • Experience in payroll is required
        • Strong organizational and time management discipline with attention to detail
        • Understanding of hospitality operating systems
        • Training/experience in accounting concepts including coding invoices, understanding a chart of accounts, payroll concepts including wage and hour regulations. Prior hotel accounting a plus
        • Ability to perform a variety of duties, often changing from one task to another of a different nature without loss of efficiency or composure
        • Flexible schedule and ability to adapt to changing hotel.--Language, Mathematical, and Reasoning Skills:--
          • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.--
          • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, commissions, proportions, and percentages.-- Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra.
          • Competency is required in Excel, Word, Windows and Outlook. Knowledge of Opera, ProfitSage or M3 a plus
          • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where incomplete standardization exists.
          • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.Physical Demands: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Candidate must be able to lift/push/pull up to 25 lbs and be able to work long hours/split shifts and be able to handle stressful conditions.-- Frequently required to walk and stand for long periods of time.-- Requires ability to reach, grab, and feel.-- --Safety:-- Upon employment, all employees are required to fully comply with all Pyramid Hotel Group Safety rules and regulations for the safe and efficient operation of hotel facilities.-- The safety of our team members and the guests of this hotel is one of Pyramids top priorities.
