Under supervision of the WIC Administrative Team Lead, performs
Administrative Support duties for Women, Infants and Children (WIC)
client services. Implements and adheres to agency/program policies
and procedures for efficient service delivery. Provides quality
customer service in a culturally competent manner. Maintains strict
confidentiality and upholds all Agency privacy practices.
Performs all administrative duties in a culturally competent
Meets, interviews and determines if applicants meet the
identification, residency and financial requirements for
eligibility with the WIC program.
Processes information, updates client profile, assists with
registering to vote, referral as appropriate, completes WIC record,
completes data collection and entry into the SCWIC system.
Validates and issues electronic WIC card and Farmer's Market
Answers telephone, schedules appointments in SCWIC, sends reminder
letters or makes reminder phone calls, as needed.
Informs and educates clients on program policies, procedures, use
of SCWIC card and WIC food guide.
Manages and maintains WIC materials and reports:
Follows WIC program security per policy and procedures.
Assists in maintaining the non-participation report, client
discharge report and others as needed.
Completes daily and or monthly SCEIS, PCAS, travel and other

Minimum and Additional Requirements
State Minimum Requirements: A high school diploma. Related clerical
experience may be substituted for a high school diploma.
Institutions of Higher Learning must be recognized by the Council
for Higher Education Accreditation.
Agency Additional Requirements: High School Diploma and two (2)
years of administrative office experience, or an associate degree
in secretarial science or a related field and one (1) year of
experience which includes public contact.
Must possess tact and ability to communicate effectively, both
orally and in writing with co-workers and general public. Able to
follow written and oral instructions. Ability to collect and
assemble information in a clear and concise manner. Must be
flexible, dependable, and willing to be cross-trained as needed.
Ability to maintain strict patient confidentiality, and to practice
"minimum necessary" information collection policies.
Must have current driver's license or ability to obtain
transportation. May be required to use personal vehicle. Must be
able to lift 30 pounds and stand for long periods. May be required
to work late (after 5pm) or early hours (before 8:30am) and/or
Saturday clinics. May have to travel to other sites.

Participates in an emergency or disaster as outlined in the DHEC
Emergency Plans. During such times, the incumbent should regard
himself/herself as being on 24- hour call and subject to duty when
such events occur and/or anticipated to occur. Travel throughout
the Lowcountry Region for clinic coverage in other sites, trainings
and meetings is required.
Immunization: All new employees who are healthcare providers are
required to provide documentation of immunity or be immunized
against Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Pertussis, Varicella and Hepatitis
B prior to beginning employment.
Our Public Health Workforce Protection Policy requires healthcare
staff with job-specific exposure risk to be fully vaccinated or
alternatively, tested for COVID-19 on a weekly basis.
Public Health staff with job-specific risk of COVID-19 exposure who
choose not to receive the COVID-19 vaccine or provide documentation
of prior vaccination, or who are unable to be vaccinated due to
medical contraindications or religious exemption, will be required
to receive routine periodic COVID-19 testing by DHEC. Vaccinated
employees will not be required to receive periodic testing may
elect to be tested to monitor their health.
State Disaster Plan: In accordance with the State's Disaster Plan,
which includes hazardous weather, DHEC employees may be required to
work in times of an emergency or disaster.
College Transcripts: Applicants indicating college credit or

the agency may require an official, certified copy of the
transcript or diploma prior to hiring.
Driving Record: If this position requires the applicant to possess
a valid driver's license to operate a state vehicle or personal
vehicle, any applicant being considered in the final stages of
selection for the position will be required to provide a certified
copy of a 10-year driving record.
