Job Description:

As a 3D Product Artist, you will work within a team creating and setting up mobile 3D assets for our visual configurator platform. This role will be expected to understand the challenges of real-time mobile assets, with working understanding of visual programming tools and concepts for completing end to end product implementation. Your role will include 3D art creation and conversion from CAD reference files, rigging, and scripting functionality through our proprietary node-based visual programming tool. SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES: Work with the Director, Implementation Delivery and various Project Managers, as well as with technical guidance of the Creative Director to deliver ready-to-use art Assets leveraged by the Implementation team. Create Assets, materials, and textures to support content delivery for both internal and external facing clients as part of the Implementation process for Atlatl---s clients. Create Assets to support sales functions as Proofs of Concept Assist Implementation managers in understanding the best ways to breakdown large bodies of work to support client projects, including estimations of time required to create Assets, and identify opportunities for efficient scaling. Understand and assist Implementation managers in understanding trade-offs related to Asset fidelity and performance. As part of the everyday workflow, you will be required to work with highly complex engineering files that will be referenced for use in a real time 3D game environment. Typically work on multiple projects at any given time within a fast paced, business development environment. Meet established standards and maintain efficient practices. When necessary you will also assist, mentor and train other employees in the processes and procedures of developmental tasks, as necessary. Provide critical analysis of art practices with the goal of improving quality and team efficiency and fostering a positive working environment. Provide additional support to business initiatives as requested by your direct supervisor. ESSENTIAL QUALITIES: Must be a highly self-motivated individual that is happy and capable to work alone, but remains a real team-oriented individual during collaborative efforts Must be able to communicate effectively with a variety of team members both local and remote Must be able to repeatedly hit delivery deadlines and help managers establish an appropriate pace of work Must be process and detail-oriented Ability to solve technical or operational problems and evaluate options based on relevant information, resources, experience, and knowledge High degree of personal ownership and accountability Maintains contemporary knowledge of tools and techniques Strong communication and interpersonal skills Excellent troubleshooting skills REQUIRED EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS: Minimum of 3 years experience modeling and texturing 3D assets, preferably using 3DS Max Candidate must have a strong design portfolio and/or demo reel demonstrating extensive knowledge of modeling for real-time gaming engines such as Unity3d, Unreal, and/or WebGLbased engines. Experienced in high to low-poly model conversions for real-time interaction An exceptional understanding of form, shape, structure, and silhouette in regards to modeling Superior eye for light, shade, color, and detail in creating texture maps of different material types Hard surface modeling specialized in mechanical, industrial, and product design Technical background and understanding of mechanical movements and typical product customizations Ability to work with accurate scale for real-world products Ability and high level of understanding of rigging and animation including skinned mesh rendering using bones, as well as blend/morph targets for optimized configurability of meshes Familiar with PBR texturing suites such as Substance and Quixel DESIRED EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS: Experience using Unity3D and WebGL Experience building 3D Assets for mass-use ---Production--- level performance/quality. Experience working with or converting engineering files such as: SolidWorks, Inventor, Autocad, Pro/Engineer, or similar Experience with Node Based Systems for creation and editing such as Unreal Blueprint, Shader Forge, Houdini, and many Compositing Software packages Associates, Bachelor---s Degree or relevant years of experience Genuine interest in industrial product design and all things mechanical Passion for 3D Art Development and willingness to share that passion with other like-minded humans. Job Level (I / II / III) is dependent on experience and demonstrated output.
