Carolina, Wild Dunes Resort offers three top-ranked hotels,
including the new coastal-modern Sweetgrass Inn, Boardwalk Inn,
Residences at Sweetgrass, and over 200 Homes and Villas, 1,600
acres of world-class golf, tennis, award-winning restaurants, Spa
at Sweetgrass, and miles of pristine beach on the Isle of Palms,
South Carolina.
The Resort, also known as Charleston's Island Resort, is located
just 30 minutes from the charm and grace of historic downtown
Charleston; it is the largest resort of its kind in the region,
offering accommodations for groups of up to 650 people and the
chance for leisure guests to enjoy a Lowcountry getaway. Many
publications and associations have distinguished the Resort as a
top destination for families, golfers, tennis lovers, and meeting
and event planners.
The Marketing Manager will work cross-functionally, supporting the
Director of Marketing to champion multi-channel marketing and PR
efforts that drive revenue for Wild Dunes Resort. This role is
instrumental in building brand awareness and sustaining brand
integrity as s/he owns and executes against a segmented,
total-resort marketing plan.
This role works collaboratively to oversee all touchpoints along
the guest journey and through the complete conversion funnel,
working in alignment with on-property, agency, and corporate
partners. Responsibilities include but are not limited to Market
research, data-driven campaign creation for digital, traditional,
and new media channels; content creation and management according
to brand standards; media buys; execution of PR tactics; tracking
and reporting for all marketing initiatives, and Marketing team
leadership. In some cases, budget management is required.
The ideal candidate is a seasoned hospitality marketer with
experience managing a mix of mediums and business segments. This
individual is a strong communicator, collaborator, and creative
thinker with superior attention to detail. S/he is highly attuned
to business goals and can effectively translate revenue needs into
marketing tactics for various business segments across mediums and
target markets. S/he reports and takes the initiative; asks
questions; digs into data; and effectively balances creativity,
time, and strategy. S/he is not afraid to roll his/her sleeves up,
step outside his/her comfort zone, and likes to push the envelope
with data-driven experimentation. This candidate is nimble and
thrives in a fast-paced setting but stays grounded with a clear
understanding of the bigger picture. Most importantly, this person
is a team player, demonstrating strong leadership, empathy, and
responsibility as a critical ambassador for Wild Dunes Resort.
Essential Job Functions:
--- Work cross-functionally and in alignment with all resort
departments, agencies, community partners, and corporate
counterparts to fulfill goals within Marketing Plan and Resort
Business Plan.
--- Manage, execute, and track a segmented, multi-channel resort
marketing plan. Channels include, but are not limited to:
o Email campaigns, including copywriting, list segmentation,
deployment, and post-deployment reporting for continual
optimization- for past guests, acquisitions, and guests on the
books.
o Text Marketing, automation, and promotional
o OTT/Streaming channels
o Digital and paid social channels, working with Digital Agencies
and Corporate Partners
o Organic social and blog content creation, supporting Social
Coordinator
o On-property & traditional media initiatives, including resort
publications and activations
o Website and third-party sites
o PR & media initiatives
--- Proactively research and contextualize industry and platform
trends for each business segment, staying at the forefront and
interpreting into marketing plans and ongoing efforts.
--- Work with Marketing Director to prepare the annual Marketing
Plan and budget, including channel mix, media buys, agency/partner
plans, and budget allocations.
--- Help to track and manage ongoing team workflow. Balance inbound
property-level requests, track projects, and provide status updates
to departmental stakeholders.
--- Along with other marketing team members, assist in proofing all
marketing materials before deployment.
--- Ensure all content on vanity, partner, and third-party sites
(as well as the corporate website) is accurate and provide for
periodic audits. This includes imagery, seasonal offerings,
packages, special offers, accolades, media coverage, and other
areas as needed.
--- Respond to corporate and PR Agency media opportunities,
coordinating with property leaders and providing factual content.
Create press kits, media kits and update materials as needed.
Arrange hosted media/influencer stays, conduct media tours and
meetings, and serve as an on-property media liaison.
--- Actively participate in monthly and bi-monthly revenue strategy
meetings. Coordinate and execute the implementation of
revenue-driving action items. Compile tactic tracking and present
results to departmental and resort stakeholders.
--- Assist DOM in compiling and interpreting monthly reporting and
evaluating all channels with support from Digital Agencies and
corporate partners.
--- Lead package/offer development and deployment, working with the
Revenue team and agency/corporate partners to maximize
exposure.
--- Support DOM to manage all CRM touchpoints, including outbound
email marketing, guest journey, retention strategies, and new
customer acquisition initiatives.
--- Support OTA strategy in collaboration with DOM, Revenue
Management Team, and Field Marketing through monthly market reviews
and media investments.
--- Work with a digital agency and corporate partners to optimize
website UX, SEO, meta descriptions, and tracking.
--- Assist in photo and video shoots and offsite marketing events
as needed.
--- Complete database entry and segmentation for email opt-in
submissions from on-property and event marketing collection
--- Special projects and tasks, as required
