Job Description:
Job Summary: We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Early
Childhood Instructional Assistant to support teachers in providing
a nurturing, engaging, and developmentally appropriate learning
environment for young children. The ideal candidate will assist in
classroom activities, promote social-emotional development, and
ensure the safety and well-being of all students. Key
Responsibilities: Assist the lead teacher in implementing lesson
plans and activities that support early childhood development that
adheres to the school's philosophy, goals, and objectives as
outlined in the adopted charter; Demonstrates the required
expectations that are outlined in the Riverview Charter School
Teacher Assistant Evaluation rubric; Acts as an interventionist
under the guidance of the teacher implementing Reading and Math
lessons to small groups of students;; Supervise children during
classroom activities, outdoor play, meals, and transitions; Foster
a positive, inclusive, and structured learning environment; Support
children's social-emotional growth by modeling appropriate
behaviors and conflict-resolution skills; Maintain a clean,
organized, and safe classroom environment; Assist with classroom
management and behavior guidance under the teacher’s direction;
Help prepare instructional materials and set up activities;
Communicate effectively with teachers, staff, and families
regarding student progress and needs; Follow all school policies,
safety protocols, and early childhood education guidelines;
Supervise students when circumstances require a brief absence by
the Teacher; Act as the Teacher when the Teacher is out; Maintains
appropriate work habits, including regular and punctual attendance
and appropriate use of planning and class time; Respects the
confidentiality of records and information regarding students,
parents, and teacher in accordance with accepted professional
ethics, and state and federal laws; Demonstrates integrity, ethical
behavior and professional conduct as stated in keeping with the
most recent version of the Riverview Charter School Employee
Handbook; and Execute duty coverage, as assigned by school
leadership Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent
required; associate degree or coursework in early childhood
education preferred. Previous experience working with young
children in an educational or childcare setting is highly
desirable. Strong communication, teamwork, and organizational
skills. Patience, enthusiasm, and a passion for working with young
learners. Ability to lift and interact with children at their
level. Must pass background checks as required by state and local
regulations. Work Schedule: Full-time, depending on school needs.
Typical school hours Monday-Friday with occasional meetings or
