Location: North Charleston, SC Description: Our client is currently seeking a Propulsion Engineer 3 in North Charleston, SCDefines requirements for propulsion systems, auxiliary power systems and vehicle fuel and tank systems. Defines, coordinates, and controls the functional and physical interfaces between the propulsion system and the vehicle. Develops specifications and architectural and configuration concepts for associated vehicle systems to meet customer and regulatory requirements. Configures or designs propulsion sub-systems and components to meet all vehicle design and performance criteria. Uses various testing, analysis, modeling, and simulation tools to estimate or calculate system performance. Defines and performs certification tests for propulsion sub-systems and components. Supports fielded systems to assure continued reliability. Develops concepts for future propulsion systems to meet anticipated requirements. Works under general direction.Experienced Thermal Analysis Engineer to join the Propulsion South Carolina (PSC) Engineering Team located in North Charleston, SC. The PSC team provides the engineering support and development of Nacelle components for current and future airplane program needs. This position would join a team of thermal analyst currently working detailed thermal analysis in support of these program development and sustaining needs.Job Responsibilities:

  • Create detailed Finite Element Models for thermal analysis
  • Ability to apply heat transfer principles to solve challenging problems in a complex thermal environment
  • Support design teams with thermal input data to aid in maturing configuration and designs
  • Provide thermal analytical support for testing and certification efforts including root cause and corrective action activities
  • Write and review detailed thermal analysis reports
  • Support trade studies required in order to achieve optimal solutions
  • Coordinate with multiple engineering disciplines across the Integrated Product Team (IPT)Skills & Qualifications:
    • 5 or more years' experience in a similar role in field of Propulsion and Aerospace
    • Bachelor's Degree or Higher in Engineering; Mechanical or Aerospace
    • Excellent communication skills: ability to clearly communicate verbally and written is required
    • Self-motivated and willing to work in a highly dynamic, team-oriented atmosphere
    • Must be able to support multiple concurrent projects in support of key milestones
    • Strong interpersonal skills and the desire to promote a One Boeing approachPreferred Qualifications:
      • Experience with Thermal Desktop and Sinda
      • Experience with meshing software such as Hyper mesh and/or Ansys
      • Experience with Propulsion Nacelle hardware
      • Experience with 1D flow network analysis
