If these qualities describe you, we'd love for you to join Ingevity!How you will impact Ingevity:Our mission is to improve service to external and internal customers, and business profitability by better utilizing company's resources. - This role will focus on designing, developing, and implementing new or revised production processes for the efficient/economical production of goods. - This position has a global focus and will interact with several internal functions, including: Sales, Technical and Product Development, Supply Chain, Operations and Finance.What you need to succeed in this role:

  • Technical understanding of specialty chemical processes and unit operations design
  • Research background of taking innovative concepts from literature and expanding/modifying those concepts to meet commercial needs with a focus on maximizing value
  • Lab experience working with catalytically mediated and biphasic reaction processes
  • Understanding of interfacial phenomenon & enzyme technologies
  • Ability to advance an idea into lab work, plant scale up, and ultimately realize commercial opportunities
  • Experience developing complex formulation chemistry
  • Technical understanding of fatty acid chemistry, surface chemistry, emulsions, multi-phase reactions, and separations.
  • Create innovative solutions to maximize value for our customers and pine chemical business
  • Technical support for capital improvement projects at all site locations
  • Create technical memos and reports as needed to document findings and recommendations of projects and trials
  • Support and lead teams across a diverse cross function of technical and business contributors including support efforts across all site locations
  • Drive growth and innovation
    • Identify, investigate and develop opportunities that align with long term growth objectives.
    • Evaluate and develop new technologies and chemistries that align with business strategy
    • Develop new processes and technologies for alternative feed stocks and pretreatment technology/processes that align with existing resources or supplement existing resources
    • Develop growth and innovation projects through research, lab work, and collaboration to help facilitate expansion into new businesses and product lines
    • Drive growth and innovation projects to commercialization and help support those projects at the plant level, with commercial groups, and engineering
    • The ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and use problem solving tools.
      Qualifications
      • PhD degree in Chemical Engineering or equivalent discipline.
      • 2 years experience in commercial environment and/or post doctorate research.
      • Preferable experience with enzyme technologies, interfacial phenomenon, and phase separation technologies. -
      • Preferable experience with oleochemical, fatty acid/glycerol processing in a manufacturing and/or R&D environment.
      • This position is eligible for relocation assistance.
