STF is seeking a Communications Systems Engineer to support the submission and technical review of engineering changes to systems at Joint Information Enterprise Satellite Communications (SATCOM) Gateways to determine impact to Navy capabilities and system interfaces. Efforts will include analysis of detailed system requirements, technology evolution, acquisition program roadmaps, ECR, and fielding plans and sustainment strategies. The scope of the effort includes systems for EHF, SHF, Commercial and UHF SATCOM, cryptos, patching and switching systems, and IP network interface/integration at Navy and other Service's SATCOM Gateway facilities.Responsibilities and DutiesThe candidate will perform and coordinate the technical review of engineering change documentation for facility and capability impacts across Navy stakeholders and subject matter experts. Review of technical architectures, system interfaces and standards, device configurations, interoperability changes, test reports, system accreditation and logistics support documentation for impacts to Navy SATCOM operations for ships, submarines and Expeditionary forces. The candidate will collaborate on email, web portals and data repositories with other Navy and Joint SATCOM Gateway system program staff and technical experts. Support meetings including generating meeting agendas, briefings, meeting setup, action tracking, minutes and point of contact listsQualifications and SkillsRequired knowledge and years of experience18 years of experience in military communications or network systems. Excellent writing skills and use of Microsoft Office products (Outlook, Powerpoint, Excel, Visio). Systems engineering configuration control process and SATCOM Gateway knowledge desired.Education RequirementsBachelors Degree highly desired in a technical field.Technical Training in both commercial and DoD telecommunications specifically wideband, narrowband, and protected satellitecommunications.Clearance RequirementSecret clearance required and TS preferred.
