Fabrication Specialist Company: The Boeing Company Boeing
Commercial Airplanes (BCA) is currently seeking an Experienced
Fabrication Specialist to join the Fabrication Emergent Operations
over the EOSC Wire Shop located in North Charleston, South Carolina
on 2nd shift . Performs machine set-up, machining, welding set-up,
welding, sheet metal fabrication and extrusion, tube bending and
fabrication tasks. Performs composite lay-up, fabrication and
assembly tasks. Assembles precision mechanical and
electro-mechanical components. Assembles, repairs, modifies and
installs various power plants and drive trains. Perform soldering
on electronic and avionics products. Assembles and installs wire
harnesses and avionics products. Prepares test articles, fixtures
and data collection devices to perform various tests. Performs
organic chemical conversion and paint preparation. Applies organic
coatings for corrosion protection and appearance requirements.
Works on complex components and systems using established drawings
and requirements. Position Responsibilities: Achieve and maintain
level “C” OJT shop requirements. Repair and fabricate wire
harnesses, and electrical components. Work as liaison between shop
and ME, SCA, IE, and sister shops. Support, evaluate and implement
alternate solutions to work related issues; Assist in the
development, implementation and maintenance of a program plan that
integrates those activities required to accomplish the department’s
specific objectives. Display the Boeing Values Basic Qualifications
(Required Skills/Experience): Must be willing to work any shift as
needed 3 years working with power and hand tools 3 years of
fabrication, manufacturing or Aerospace experience 3 years’
experience working with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Power
Point, Word) Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
Complete knowledge and proficiency in the use of wiring tooling,
equipment and hand tools 4 years of electrical mechanical
experience on aircraft Proven ability to effectively communicate
status of parts and material using automated systems and manual
reporting methods to ensure parts availability at an accelerated
rate in a dynamic environment Proven ability to coordinate with
various functions to set priorities, expedite and complete
production activities to avoid schedule delays Ability to work
independently under general supervision Multiple systems experience
and knowledge including but not limited to: Andon, SAT, Velocity,
SRIT, CMES 5S Experience & Knowledge (Lean, Six Sigma a plus)
Knowledge and willingness to assist with leading the BPS
progression of the shop Minimum of one-year experience of 787
Operations Minimum of one-year experience with 787 wire fabrication
and rework Minimum of one-year experience with Velocity, REDARS,
