C.T. Lowndes & Company, an independent insurance agency, is currently seeking a Commercial Lines Account Manager to join our team in Charleston, SC. C.T. Lowndes is a great place to work - we offer our full time employees competitive benefits and we encourage a healthy work/life balance by having a generous PTO plan and a shortened work-day every Friday!POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES: A Commercial Lines CSR and/or Account Manager assists in the support and production on new commercial lines accounts and the retention of existing accounts. In addition to providing exceptional customer service, additional responsibilities for this position include, but are not limited to: securing and submitting required renewal underwriting information, processing change requests, change confirmations, and customer requested changes or cancellations, soliciting increases in coverage, rounding existing accounts, remarketing and/or rewriting accounts, taking commercial lines inside sales, and seeking referrals from current client base to generate new business prospects.POSITION REQUIREMENTS:-Minimum five years of practical experience in similar position at an independent agency with underwriting and rating background; must have previous commercial Property & Casualty experience-High School diploma required; Associate's and/or Bachelor's degree is preferred; additional insurance designations (CIC, CISR, etc.) are preferred-Requires an ability to communicate orally and in writing with others to explain complex issues, receive and interpret complex information, and respond appropriately-Must be a self-starter with excellent time management and problem-solving skills-Must embrace a client-focused, team mentality-Must be proficient in MS Office tools and insurance management systems-Previous working knowledge of AMS360 or similar insurance account management software is preferred-Must have an active South Carolina P&C license.Position Location: Charleston, SCABOUT C.T.
