PRIMARY FUNCTIONS: Coordinate with the HR and Finance departments to process bi-weekly payroll for new and existing employees in the U.S and Canada and monthly payroll for employees in Australia. Process, maintain and submit payroll required reports and documentation to the Finance team in a timely manner, including bi-weekly payroll journal entries and monthly payroll related account reconciliations. Perform value-added analysis to explain unusual and/or significant month-over-month variances in salaries and benefit expenses. Prepare and submit monthly payroll tax returns with the Australian Tax Office. Review, validate and approve year-end W-2 reporting, quarterly 941 Wage reports, and other quarterly and year-end reports prepared by the third-party service provider - ADP. Keep up to date regarding company policies and procedures for interpretation and application alongside other payroll guidelines and employment regulations. Research changes in payroll compliance requirements and determine potential impact to the company and its employees. Partner with the Tax team to ensure the company is registered for payroll and unemployment tax purposes across the various city, state and local jurisdictions in which employees work/reside. Maintain Payroll Calendar to ensure all payroll reporting and compliance requirements are completed accurately and in advance of due dates. Address issues and questions regarding payroll from employees and external third parties. Assist the Global Controller in due diligence efforts in connection with potential merger, acquisition, and divestiture activity. Interface with external auditors for payroll-related audit requirements. Managerial responsibilities will include, but are not limited to: -Develop and maintain an effective organization through the selection, training, compensation, and motivation of all direct reports. -Provide guidance and direction to at least one direct report to ensure adherence to all company policies, departmental procedures, and legal requirements. -Motivate, mentor, and manage your direct report through deployment of Company people development tools. EXPERIENCE: 5-7 years' progressive experience in payroll administration with at least 2 years' experience in a supervisory/management capacity. Proficient with ADP or other payroll administration software. NetSuite or other ERP experience is required. Hands on experience processing bi-weekly payroll for US and Canadian employees is required. Experience working with a multinational foreign parent company is strongly desired. Accounting/Finance or legal compliance experience is a plus. Experience working for a public company is preferred. EDUCATION: BA/BS degree is preferred. Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) designation is a plus. OTHER QUALIFICATIONS: Adept in working in fast-paced environment. Thrives working in team environment. Demonstrated ability to organize, direct, prioritize and delegate work appropriately. Strong leadership, problem-solving and research skills. Ability to communicate clearly, concisely, and assertively (written and oral). Capable of managing multiple responsibilities while maintaining high level of detail accompanied with working effectively in a high-paced environment. Results oriented with focus on achieving overall business objectives. Must be able to streamline work and maximize efficiencies.
