The Trauma Performance Improvement (PI) Nurse will assist the
Trauma Medical Director and Trauma Program Director in coordinating
detailed quality and performance improvement reviews of care
delivered to patients meeting trauma registry inclusion
What you will do in this role:
* You will perform case reviews to include care rendered by all
members of the multi-disciplinary team from scene of injury through
hospital discharge in an effort to monitor patient safety and
quality care initiatives ensuring defined hospital and trauma
program policies and guidelines are followed.
* You will prepare and report quality data trends and outcomes as
requested by the Trauma Program Director and/or Medical
* You will assist with design, development and execution of PI
projects based on performance improvement outcomes.
* You will demonstrate clinical nursing competency and act as a
clinical resource, functioning as a role model for quality driven
patient care and assist in staff and community education as
* You will actively participate with local, regional, state and
corporate PI leaders on quality initiatives.
* You will engage in active ongoing communication with the trauma
care team and all disciplines that provide care to our

improvement/education initiatives in an effort to assist the Trauma
Program Director and Trauma Medical Director in continuous program
evaluation and development.
* Current unencumbered South Carolina or Multistate Compact
Registered Nurse License
* BLS - Healthcare provider on hire (American Heart
* ACLS Certification on hire or within 6 months of hire or transfer
* TNCC Certification on hire or within 6 months of hire or transfer
* ENPC preferred
* PALS preferred
Education: Graduate of an accredited school of nursing. BSN
Experience: 2 years clinical nurse ED/Trauma Resuscitation
experience preferred (STICU experience considered). Previous trauma
program performance improvement experience or similar quality
review experience preferred.
Special qualifications: Clinical expertise in the practice of
critical care nursing, computer literacy with knowledge of common
Microsoft Office products (Word, Outlook, Excel), excellent written
and verbal communication skills as well as analytical and
interpersonal skills, knowledge of trauma standards, expertise in
performance improvement, self-directed and an ability to flex work
schedule as needed.
