Job Description:
Job Summary:
To provide perioperative nursing care for patients following
established standards and practices in accordance with the South
Carolina Nurse Practice Act. There are on-call requirements for
this position.
Minimum Qualifications:
Education: BSN from an accredited school or college of nursing.
Teammates hired or transferred into this role before July 1, 2022
without a BSN are considered ------grandfathered------, but must
have graduated from an accredited school or college of nursing.
Experience: At least 2 years in operating room nursing, or 4 years
in operating room surgical technology or sterile processing.
Demonstrated working knowledge of specialty being coordinated.
Licensure/Certification: Currently licensed as a Registered Nurse
in the state of South Carolina or holds a current
compact/multi-state license as a Registered Nurse in a recognized
NCSBN Compact State and is not a permanent resident of SC.
Certification in operating room nursing preferred (OR);
certification in post-anesthesia nursing preferred (PACU) Must have
a current American Heart Association BLS for Healthcare Provider
Card.
Primary Source Verification (if applicable): Nursing- SC Labor,
Licensing and Regulation (LLR): llronline - or compact RN state
licensing board.
Knowledge/Skills: Knowledge of organizational policies and
procedures to provide patient care. Knowledge of common safety
hazards and precautions to establish a safe work environment. Skill
in preparing and maintaining effective working relationships.
Ability to communicate clearly. Knowledge of common safety hazards
and precautions to establish a safe work environment.
Other: Ability to organize and prioritize multiple tasks quickly in
a fast-paced environment.
Contacts: Constant interaction with internal and external customers
to include (but not limited to) patients, families, physicians,
employees and visitors.
