expertise!Job Summary and QualificationsPosition Summary:The RNFA
collaborates with the surgeon and the health care team in
performing a safe operation with optimal outcomes for the patient.
The first assistant practices under direct supervision of the
surgeon during the intraoperative phase. The first assistance must
have acquired the necessary knowledge, skills, and judgment
specific to their level of clinical practice and does not function
concurrently as a scrub nurse.May also perform duties of RN
Circulator:The perioperative nurse is a registered nurse who plans,
coordinates, delivers, and evaluates nursing care to patients whose
protective reflexes or self-care abilities are potentially
compromised during surgical or other invasive procedures. The
perioperative nurse plans and implements nursing care to address
the physical, psychological, and spiritual responses of the patient
having a surgical or invasive procedure.May also perform in the
Surgical Technician role.Performs scrub duties and related
procedures such as surgical room set-up. Assists in the maintenance
of supplies. Provides assistance in emergency procedures as well as
elective and scheduled cases. Assists in preparation,
transportation and supervision of patients. Job may include direct
supervision of students at the discretion of the area supervisor.
Employee must have the same licensure or have completed the same
training to satisfy the requirements of the discipline of the
student. Direct supervision means the primary caregiver is readily
available to the student throughout the shift.What qualifications
you will need:Licensure/Certification/Registration: - Current
unencumbered South Carolina or Multistate Compact Registered Nurse
License - BLS - Healthcare provider on hire (American Heart
Association or American Red Cross) - Certificate of Completion of
RNFA program
- After 2 years of practice, RNFA
Certification is required - Graduate of an accredited school of
nursing.- Recent experience in Perioperative Nursing required -
Performs in accordance with delineated job responsibilities and
satisfactorily completes a yearly evaluation based on these
responsibilities
- Must possess the knowledge and
skills necessary to effectively meet the needs of the
patient/internal & external customer. Trident Health is a 445-bed
