Job Description SummaryMeduflex is the inpatient Float Pool at
MUSC. Our primary focus is coverage for callouts and extended
leaves of absence. We offer 10 different zones providing patient
care for Adult and Pediatric units at all four locations downtown:
University Hospital, Ashley River Tower, the Institute of
Psychiatry, and Shawn Jenkins Children's Hospital.
As a Registered Nurse II in the Pediatric Critical Care Zone, you
will float between the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit, Pediatric
Cardiac ICU and Neonatal ICU. Floating to Intermediate units or
floors are as needed in the Shawn Jenkins Children's Hospital.
Specific to the Meduflex Team, we offer a float differential based

Summary/Purpose: -The Registered Nurse II-Float Team reports to the
Pediatric Critical Care Nurse Manager. Under general supervision,
the Registered Nurse II provides individualized, goal-directed
patient care to families and patients at the competent level
utilizing the principles and practices of the nursing process;
delivers safe and effective care and interacts with other members
of the health care team to achieve desired outcomes.Minimum
Training and Education: -Graduation from an accredited school of
nursing and a minimum of one year of work experience as a
registered nurse required. Bachelor of Nursing degree preferred. RN
staff hired on or after July 1, 2013 with an Associate or Diploma
degree in nursing are required to initiate education for BSN within
2 years and complete within four years of hire date. Employees are
required to sign an agreement regarding the education
requirement.Required Licensure, Certifications, Registrations:
Licensure as a registered nurse by the South Carolina Board of
Nursing or a compact state. Current Basic Life Support (BLS)
required, either a certification from an American Heart Association
(AHA) BLS for Healthcare Providers (or AHA recognized equivalent)
or an American Red Cross CPR/AED for Professional Rescuer and
Healthcare Provider. Some positions require certification in

required to push a stretcher with a patient with one hand. Ability
to maintain 20/40 vision, corrected, in one eye or with both eyes.
