PICU Travel Nurse Job Details - Location: Charleston, SC 29401 (South Carolina healthcare jobs) - Estimated Weekly Salary: $1800-$1840 - Assignment Length: 13 weeks (Start: 11/3/2025 – End: 2/2/2026) - Setting: Pediatric ICU Float Pool (PICU, CVPICU, NICU) - Shifts: 3x12-hour day shifts per week (07:00 – 19:30), 36 hours/week - Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend, holiday rotation - Patient Ratios: 1:2/1:3 - Guaranteed Hours: Facility may call off 1 shift per 2 weeks Pediatric ICU RN Qualifications - Minimum 2 years of recent Pediatric ICU (PICU) nursing experience required - Active South Carolina RN license or Multi-State/Compact State Registered Nurse License (pending license with proof of application accepted) - BLS and PALS certifications (American Heart Association required) - Experience with ECMO and CRRT preferred - Strong pediatric critical care skills: anti-seizure medication administration, ventilator management, chest tube care, central/PICC line care, sedation, ABG interpretation, dysrhythmia management, pediatric dosage calculations, isolation precautions - Ability to float to all pediatric units (PICU, CVPICU, NICU) as needed - All requested time off must be submitted at time of application - Flu vaccine required (medical/religious exemptions considered) PICU RN Responsibilities - Deliver high-quality, compassionate nursing care to critically ill pediatric patients in the ICU - Float between Pediatric ICU, Cardiovascular PICU (CVPICU), and Neonatal ICU (NICU) units as needed - Monitor, assess, and document patient conditions and responses to treatment - Administer medications, manage ventilators, and provide advanced airway and line care - Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams including respiratory therapists, pharmacists, and social workers - Participate in emergency response teams during hurricane season if required - Maintain compliance with hospital policies, safety standards, and infection control protocols Why Choose Charleston, SC for Your Next Nursing Job?
