Job Description & Requirements - Specialty: OR - Operating Room - Discipline: RN - Start Date: 11/24/2025 - Duration: 13 weeks - 40 hours per week - Shift: 10 hours, days - Employment Type: Travel Job Description American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for an Ambulatory Operating Room position requiring at least one year of OR experience and a SC or compact RN license. Responsibilities - Work in an ambulatory operating room setting - Unit features 2 ORs, 2 GI procedural rooms, 1 VIR procedural room, and 20 pre/post patient bays - Patient population includes Orthopedics (total joints, arthroscopy, hand, shoulder, elbow), Interventional Radiology (VIR), GI (upper and lower scopes), Ophthalmology, Ortho, ENT, GYN, GU, Endocrine, Surgical Oncology, Plastics, and Robotics - No general surgery, labor & delivery, or pediatrics cases are performed - Day shift schedule, four 10-hour shifts per week from 6:30am to 5:00pm, with occasional late days as scheduled - Floating within the perioperative facility may be required based on unit needs - No on-call responsibilities - Epic is used for electronic medical records - Pre/post RNs prepare patients for surgery by reviewing history, obtaining vitals, starting IVs, and administering pre-op medications - Provide post-anesthesia recovery care including monitoring vitals and reviewing discharge instructions - Collaborate closely with surgeons, anesthesia providers, and OR staff in a fast-paced environment - All required online modules must be completed prior to start - Holiday time-off requests and multiple requests within a contract are subject to approval based on facility needs - Travelers may be assigned emergency response duties during hurricane season from June through November - First-time travelers are not accepted for this position - Local candidates within 60 miles are accepted at the local rate Requirements - Active SC or compact RN license required - Current BLS certification (AHA only) required - Minimum of 1 year of recent operating room nursing experience required - Experience needed in at least some of the following specialties: Ophthalmology, Ortho, ENT, GYN, GU, Endocrine, Surgical Oncology, Plastics, Robotics, Total Joints, and GI - A radiation badge must be provided by the parent company - Previous employment with the health system must be separated by at least 1 year prior to returning as a traveler - Epic EMR experience preferred - Driver’s license and Social Security number required for consideration Benefits - High Pay and Bonuses - Medical, Dental and Vision Insurance with Day 1 Options - 401(k) Plan - Weekly Payroll Deposit - Free Online CEUs - Generous Housing Allowance - Travel and Licensure Reimbursements - Non-taxed Per Diem and Subsidy - Traveler Rewards and Discounts American Traveler Job ID P-626740.
