Job Description & Requirements - Specialty: OR - Operating Room - Discipline: RN - Start Date: 11/24/2025 - Duration: 13 weeks - 40 hours per week - Shift: 10 hours, days - Employment Type: Travel Job Description American Traveler is seeking an experienced Operating Room RN with a SC or compact license and Level I trauma experience for a day shift position. Responsibilities - Work in a busy Main Operating Room within a Level I trauma, academic teaching, and Magnet designated hospital - Unit has 21 operating suites covering all surgical specialties including trauma, transplant, ortho, neuro, ENT, GU-GYN, and robotics - Schedules are four 10-hour day shifts (6:30am-5:00pm) with a holiday rotation - Up to four on-call shifts every four weeks are required - Up to one weekend shift every four weeks is required - Floating within scope to similar units is expected - Epic EMR is used in this unit - RN will both scrub and circulate for a variety of surgical procedures in a nurse-driven environment - Team consists of 75% registered nurses and 25% certified surgical technologists - Cutting-edge surgical technology and equipment are utilized in the operating room - Orientation modules must be completed prior to the start date - Scrubs are provided for staff - Holiday coverage is part of the schedule rotation - Block scheduling requests may be considered with manager approval based on unit needs - RTO must be requested up front and approval depends on staffing needs - Local candidates (within 60 miles) will be considered on a case-by-case basis Requirements - Active SC or multi-state/compact RN license required - Two years of recent OR RN experience strongly preferred - Current AHA BLS certification required - Must be able to obtain and wear a radiation badge (provided by agency) - Level I trauma OR experience required - Scrub experience strongly preferred - SSN and driver’s license required for consideration - First-time travelers will be considered - Previous permanent staff (including PRN) must be separated from the health system for at least one year Benefits - High Pay and Bonuses - Medical, Dental and Vision Insurance with Day 1 Options - 401(k) Plan - Weekly Payroll Deposit - Free Online CEUs - Generous Housing Allowance - Travel and Licensure Reimbursements - Non-taxed Per Diem and Subsidy - Traveler Rewards and Discounts American Traveler Job ID P-629178.
