Job Description & Requirements - Specialty: CVPICU - Discipline: RN - Start Date: 12/08/2025 - Duration: 8 weeks - 48 hours per week - Shift: 12 hours, days - Employment Type: Travel Job Description American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Pediatric Cardiovascular ICU position requiring 2 years of pediatric cardiac ICU experience and current SC or compact RN license. Responsibilities - Position is in a 29-bed Pediatric Cardiovascular ICU - Cares for pediatric patients with congenital heart disease, including post-cardiac surgery, VADs, heart transplant, and cardiac catheterization - Day shifts with 4x12 hour schedule, 7:00 to 19:30 - Nurse-to-patient ratios are 1:1 or 1:2 based on acuity - Weekend requirement includes 4 shifts per 4-week period and participation in holiday rotations - All ICU beds are monitored beds - Utilizes Epic EMR system - Floating within scope may be required - Unit has received the Gold Beacon Award and is a referral center for major pediatric cardiac surgery in South Carolina - Care includes complex therapies such as ECMO and CRRT - Interdisciplinary team includes RNs, patient care techs, unit secretaries, respiratory therapy, pediatric dietitians, and pharmacists - First-time travelers are accepted - Block scheduling may be requested but is not guaranteed - All requested time off must be provided at time of application and is subject to unit approval - Local candidates are considered within a 60-mile radius on a case-by-case basis - Travel pairs are not accepted on this unit - Participation in emergency response teams may be required during hurricane season Requirements - Active SC or compact RN license required - Minimum 2 years of pediatric cardiac ICU experience - PALS and BLS (AHA only) required - ACLS (AHA) preferred - Ventricular Assist Device (VAD) experience highly preferred - EPIC experience preferred - Must provide SSN and driver's license for consideration - Previous permanent staff (including PRN) must be separated for at least 1 year before returning as a traveler Benefits - High Pay and Bonuses - Medical, Dental and Vision Insurance with Day 1 Options - 401(k) Plan - Weekly Payroll Deposit - Free Online CEUs - Generous Housing Allowance - Travel and Licensure Reimbursements - Non-taxed Per Diem and Subsidy - Traveler Rewards and Discounts American Traveler Job ID P-639971.
