ADEX Healthcare Staffing LLC is seeking a travel nurse RN PCU - Progressive Care Unit for a travel nursing job in Charleston, South Carolina. Job Description & Requirements - Specialty: PCU - Progressive Care Unit - Discipline: RN - Start Date: 01/26/2026 - Duration: 13 weeks - 36 hours per week - Shift: 12 hours, nights - Employment Type: Travel Opportunity: RN - Observation Unit Job Details: • Work 3x12 hour night shifts from 6:00 PM to 6:00 AM, Monday through Thursday • No Friday, weekend, or holiday requirements • Patient ratio of 1:6 maximum, 1:3 expected • No on-call responsibilities • Facility may call off 1 shift per 2 weeks (guaranteed hours limitation) • Possible floating to another observation unit or called off for low census • Required certifications: BLS and ACLS • South Carolina or Multi-State/Compact RN license required • Minimum 2 years of experience required, first-time travelers accepted • Work in a six-bay 23-hour observation unit inside a surgery center PACU • Staffing model includes 2 RNs and 1 PCT, with possibility of 1 RN and 1 PCT some nights • Care for variety of patients including orthopedics, interventional radiology, and GI cases • Skills required: airway assessment, conscious sedation, medication reconciliation, phlebotomy, starting and maintaining IVs • Work closely with surgeons, anesthesia, and OR nurses in fast-paced environment • Complete approximately 4 hours of non-billable modules pre-start • May be assigned to emergency response teams during hurricane season (June-November) Facility: This healthcare organization operates a specialized 23-hour observation unit within a surgery center, located inside a large clinic facility.
