Employment Type: Travel /n Job Description/n American Traveler is
seeking an experienced Operating Room RN with ambulatory surgery
experience for a hospital-based day shift role requiring BLS and a
SC or compact RN license. /n /n Responsibilities/n - Ambulatory
Operating Room setting within a hospital environment - Day shift
position working four 10-hour shifts per week, from 6:30am to
5:00pm - Shifts include scheduled late days several times per month
- Floating within the perioperative facility may be required - Not
an on-call position - Patient population includes Orthopedics
(total joints, arthroscopy, hand, shoulder & elbow), Interventional
Radiology, GI (upper and lower scopes), Ophthalmology, Ortho, ENT,
GYN, GU, Endocrine, Surgical Oncology, Plastics, and Robotics - No
general surgery, labor & delivery, or pediatrics - Unit features 2
ORs, 2 GI procedural rooms, 1 VIR room, and 20 pre/post-op bays -
Utilizes Epic EMR; Epic experience preferred - Pre- and post-op
responsibilities include prepping patients, medication
reconciliation, obtaining vital signs and EKGs, starting IVs,
administering medications, monitoring recovery, and providing
discharge instructions - Work closely with surgeons, anesthesia,
and other OR staff in a fast-paced, multidisciplinary team
environment - Scheduled day off is determined by departmental
needs, with special requests considered - All requested time off
must be submitted at time of application; multiple requests within
an 8-13 week contract may be denied - Holiday and weekend coverage
may be required based on departmental needs - Previous permanent or
PRN staff must be separated from employment with the hospital
system for at least 1 year before returning as a traveler - Dress
code and scrub requirements align with departmental policy /n /n
Requirements/n - Active SC or compact RN license required, in hand
or proof of application with intent to obtain before assignment
start - Minimum of 1 year recent Operating Room RN experience - AHA
BLS certification required - Experience in at least several of the
following specialties: Ophthalmology, Ortho, ENT, GYN, GU,
Endocrine, Surgical Oncology, Plastics, Robotics, Total Joints, and
VIR - Experience with Epic EMR preferred - Radiation badge required
- Must provide a Social Security card and driver’s license for
consideration - Not open to first-time travelers - Local candidates
