This is an excellent opportunity for RNs seeking travel nurse jobs in South Carolina healthcare settings./n /n/nCompensation/n /n - Estimated Weekly Salary Range: $1420 - $1530/n /n/nCardiac Stepdown RN Job Details/n /n - Location: Charleston, SC 29407 (South Carolina nursing jobs)/n - Assignment Length: 13 weeks (Start: January 5, 2026 – End: April 6, 2026)/n - Shift: Night shifts, 3x12-hour (6:00 PM – 6:30 AM), Monday–Thursday (No Fridays, weekends, or holidays)/n - Hours per Week: 36/n - Setting: Six-bay, 23-hour observation unit within a surgery center PACU/n - Staffing Model: Two RNs and one Patient Care Technician (PCT), with possible adjustment to one RN and one PCT on select nights/n - Security: Overnight building security provided for staff safety/n /n/nRegistered Nurse Qualifications/n /n - Active South Carolina or Multi-State/Compact Registered Nurse (RN) license (SC license in hand preferred)/n - BLS (Basic Life Support) and ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) certifications required/n - Minimum 1 year of recent RN experience in cardiac stepdown or observation unit (2 years preferred)/n - First-time travel nurses welcome/n - Ability to float to other observation units as needed/n /n/nCardiac Stepdown RN Responsibilities/n /n - Provide safe, high-quality nursing care to patients in a fast-paced cardiac stepdown/observation unit/n - Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesia, and operating room (OR) nurses in pre- and post-operative care/n - Care for patients from diverse specialties including Orthopedics, Interventional Radiology, and GI procedures/n - Perform airway assessments, conscious sedation, medication reconciliation, phlebotomy, IV insertion and maintenance, and lab value interpretation/n - Maintain accurate patient documentation and communicate effectively with the interdisciplinary healthcare team/n - Adapt to changing patient ratios (expected 1:3, maximum 1:6)/n /n/n /n Discover top travel nursing jobs in Charleston, SC, and enjoy a supportive work environment with excellent security and professional growth opportunities.
