Provide specialized stepdown nursing care for patients boarded in the ER holding unit, ensuring high-quality clinical support in a fast-paced environment. This role requires a strong PCU skillset combined with the ability to manage patients with cardiac, neurological, orthopedic, and critical care needs. Key Responsibilities: Deliver patient care to ER boarders in the dedicated holding area with a nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:4-5, adjusted for acuity. Interpret telemetry strips using Spacelabs monitors and document results accurately. Collaborate with respiratory therapists who provide ABGs, breathing treatments, and handle ventilator equipment troubleshooting. Adhere to department-specific protocols, including strict infection control and safety measures within psych/seclusion rooms. Participate in orientation specific to this unit during the first week of the assignment. Work at least six weekend shifts within a six-week schedule, with holiday shifts as required by department needs. Qualifications: Active Georgia or Compact nursing license. Current BLS and ACLS certifications. Minimum of 2 years recent PCU experience OR 1 year PCU plus 1 years in Telemetry, ER, or ICU. Successful completion of at least one previous travel nursing assignment preferred. Recent references from prior assignments demonstrating competency. Willingness to comply with the 100-mile radius drivers license verification policy.
