Health to find a qualified Med/Surg RN in Beaufort, South Carolina,

Certifications: BCLS Required Must-Have: Travelers must have
stepdown/PCU experience. First-time travelers accepted. Facility
will not accept any license or background hits. Description: The
position is for a registered nurse in a medical surgical setting.
This unit consists of 22 beds for adult patients. Travelers will
float to the PCU unit as needed. The daily census averages 22
patients. The majority of cases involve overnight gynecological
surgeries. Other patient diagnoses include wounds, sepsis,
pneumonia, diabetes, COPD, chest pain, acute kidney injury,
dialysis, alcoholism, liver failure, oncology, and end-of-life
care. Registered nurses are expected to have experience with
managing ports, phlebotomy, insulin management, telemetry, and use
of rapid response/code teams. Skills in colostomy/ileostomy care,
pre/post hemodialysis management, blood product administration,
central line blood draw, and maintenance of IVs are required.
Knowledge of isolation precautions and wound care is essential. RNs
will work rotating shifts, including weekdays and every other
weekend. Floating within the facility is required and will be
scheduled in accordance with hospital policies. Registered nurses
are expected to manage patient ratios of 6:1 during shifts. Work
assignments may include holidays. All applicants must possess a
valid state license and BCLS certification. Meditech charting
experience is preferred but not required for all positions. 5
