Job Description Summary Shift: Monday - Friday 8:30am - 5:00pm;
call rotation including weekends and holidays Nuclear Medicine
Technologist performs diagnostic imaging procedures using
sophisticated radiation-detecting instrumentation. Prepares and
administers radioactive chemical compounds known as
radiopharmaceuticals. Knowledgeable in IV placement to avoid
extravasations of radiopharmaceuticals. Performs computer
processing and image enhancement. Provides images, data analysis,
and patient information to the physician for diagnostic
interpretation. Provides excellent patient care. Demonstrates

Description The Nuclear Medicine Technologist assists physicians in
the performance of diagnostic and / or therapeutic procedures by
preparing the patient and operating the nuclear medicine equipment
in order to obtain diagnostic scans. Administers
radiopharmaceuticals and medications to obtain diagnostic images
and/or provides therapy as ordered by physician. Performs quality
care to pediatric through adult patients using professional and
ethical judgment along with critical thinking in performing duties.
Additional Job Description Education: Graduate of an ARRT or NMTCB
recognized Nuclear Medicine Program required. Experience: 0-2 years
of Nuclear Medicine/PET experience required, 1 year preferred.
Required Registration/Certification: Licensure from the South
Carolina Radiation Quality Standards Association is . Must be a
Certified Nuclear Medicine Technologist (CNMT) from the NMTCB or
Registered Technologist (RT (N)) from ARRT OR registry eligible
with a B.S. or B.A. preferred. If registry eligible, must obtain
certification within 12 months. Current Basic Life Support (BLS) ,
either a certification from an American Heart Association (AHA) BLS
for Healthcare Providers (or AHA recognized equivalent) or an
American Red Cross CPR/AED for Professional Rescuer and Healthcare
Provider Physical Requirements : Ability to perform job functions
