Job Description:
Job Description Summary Under the direction and supervision of
licensed personnel, the Operating Room Assistant assists in
providing direct patient care and tasks required for daily unit

Job Description Minimum Requirements: At least 1 year work
experience in a .6fte Operating Room Assistant position at MUSC CHS
or 1 year of patient care work experience in a healthcare facility;
or a college degree, or active enrollment in nursing school with
completion of Nursing Fundamentals from an accredited institution;
or active enrollment in a healthcare related field from an
accredited institution; or a Nursing Assistant or Medical
Assistant, or equivalent training. Required Licensure,
Certifications, Registrations: Basic Life Support required within 2
weeks of hire. Thereafter, must maintain. Current American Heart
Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) certification or
American Red Cross BLS for Healthcare Providers certification is
required. May require working irregular hours, rotating shifts and
weekends. Monday - Friday 4 / 10 hour shifts, 2 pm - 10 pm Holiday
Call and Disaster Teams Additional Job Description NOTE: The

Continuous – 6-8 hours per shift; 2) Frequent – 2-6 hours per
shift; 3) Infrequent – 0-2 hours per shift Ability to perform job

Ability to lift and carry 15 lbs. unassisted. (Infrequent) Ability
to lift/lower objects 15 lbs. from/to floor from/to 36 inches
unassisted. (Infrequent) Ability to lift from 36 inches to overhead
15 lbs. (Infrequent) Ability to maintain 20/40 vision, corrected,
in one eye or with both eyes. (Continuous) Ability to see and
recognize objects close at hand or at a distance. (Continuous)
Ability to match or discriminate between colors. (Continuous)

between objects; depth perception. (Continuous) Ability to maintain
hearing acuity, with correction. (Continuous) Ability to perform
gross motor functions with frequent fine motor movements.
