Job Description Summary Meduflex is MUSC Charleston’s inpatient
Float Pool, supporting a wide range of patient care units across
the downtown campus. Spanning 10 specialized zones and serving both
Adult and Pediatric populations, the team offers Registered Nurses
(RNs) flexible scheduling and additional float differential pay. In
this versatile role, you’ll have the rewarding opportunity to float
between the Antepartum unit and Labor and Delivery, providing
personalized, compassionate care to expectant mothers—whether they
are preparing for delivery or experiencing early labor. This role

hour shifts/week Job Summary/Purpose : Under general supervision,
the Registered Nurse II provides individualized, goal-directed
patient care to families and patients at the competent level
utilizing the principles and practices of the nursing process;
delivers safe and effective care and interacts with other members
of the health care team to achieve desired results. Minimum
Training and Education: Graduation from an accredited school of
nursing and a minimum of one year of labor & delivery work
experience as a registered nurse is required. Bachelor of Nursing
degree preferred. RN staff hired on or after July 1, 2013 with an
Associate or Diploma degree in nursing are required to initiate
education for BSN within 2 years and complete within four years of
hire date. Employees are required to sign an agreement regarding
the education requirement. Required Licensure, Certifications,
Registrations: Licensure as a registered nurse by the South
Carolina Board of Nursing or a compact state. Current Basic Life
Support (BLS) required, either a certification from an American
Heart Association (AHA) BLS for Healthcare Providers (or AHA
recognized equivalent) or an American Red Cross CPR/AED for
Professional Rescuer and Healthcare Provider. Some positions
require certification in Advanced Cardiac Life Support. Additional

from another healthcare worker. 20 lbs. of force is needed to push
a 400 lb. patient in a wheelchair on carpet. 25 lbs. of force is
required to push a stretcher with a patient with one hand. Ability
to maintain 20/40 vision, corrected, in one eye or with both eyes.

distance/relationship between objects; depth perception.
