OBJECTIVE:The objective of this position is to maintain a clean environment for residents and staff throughout theBishop Gadsden Community by completing general and detailed housekeeping functions in theseareas.

    • Prepare supplies and equipment as needed from supply area and load onto cleaning cart. Keep Housekeeping closet and cleaning cart clean and organized.
    • Clean residents' apartments, common areas and offices following Bishop Gadsden cleaning standards.
    • Sweep/vacuum all assigned areas, mop hard floors
    • Clean all room furnishings, fixtures, ledges
    • Clean windows, blinds, mirrors, walls, ceilings, elevators
    • Empty wastebaskets
    • Follow safety policies and procedures and maintain safe work habits at all times.
    • Post "wet floor" signs.
    • Do not leave chemicals on carts unattended.
    • Ensure that all chemicals are labeled properly.
    • Leave clear pathways and entryways.
    • Follow recommended HazMat instructions.
    • Communicate with members of team and supervisor in a pleasant and efficient manner.
    • Participate in staff functions as necessary as a member of the staff of this facility.


      • Assume accountability for department and facility policies and procedures and assume accountability for information contained in the current employee handbook.
      • Adhere to established facility and departmental safety policies and procedures.
      • Participate in facility emergency drill procedures.
      • Perform all responsibilities with adherence to Resident's Rights and HIPAA.
      • Maintain professional appearance and conduct exhibiting a respectful and courteous demeanor at all times.
      • Adhere to the Bishop Gadsden dress code policy and guidelines.
      • Adhere to Bishop Gadsden cellphone policy.
      • Participate in educational and departmental opportunities.
      • Attend mandatory continuing education sessions.
      • Attend department meetings and/or educational opportunities as required.
      • Attend facility functions and demonstrate interest in Bishop Gadsden activities.
      • Show evidence of working as a team member.
      • Adhere to attendance and scheduling requirements.
      • Accept additional duties as necessary in a cooperative manner.
      • Observe fiscal responsibility in use of Bishop Gadsden resources and purchases made on behalf of Bishop Gadsden.


        • Ability to read, write, speak and understand English.
        • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively both verbally and written.
        • Interpersonal skills are necessary for exchanging information as well as maintaining a courteous relationship with the residents, families, visitors and Bishop Gadsden employees.
        • Must have compassion for and desire to work with the elderly.


          • High school education or equivalent preferred.


            • The physical demands, with reasonable accommodations, of an employee in this position are as follows:
            • Manual dexterity, particularly in hand/arms.
            • Ability to stand, stoop, bend, reach, squat, climb, reach above head, carry, and lift (up to 50 lbs.).
            • Ability to operate computer and keyboard.
            • Ability to sit and stand for periods of time.
            • Ability to read and comprehend numbers and written material both on paper and on computer systems.
            • Ability to work in a professional office environment and represent the community both in manner and appearance.
