Job Description:

NexGen Data Systems is seeking a Navy Qualified Validator to manage customer-required Risk Management Framework (RMF) efforts for Department of Defense (DoD) customers. This role will work collaboratively with Information Technology (IT) Engineers and System Administrators to conduct Cyber Security (CS) analysis, mitigation, remediation, and monitoring to ensure compliance with applicable DoD and Department of the Navy (DON) policies, procedures, and regulations. The validator will assess and validate that the system has implemented the approved security control baseline. These positions will be 6 month temporary positions with the potential of hire. Responsibilities Provides client support through Defense Information Assurance Certification Accreditation Process (DIACAP), Certification Accreditation (CA) activities, and migration to Risk Management Framework (RMF) Assessment Authorization (AA) environment Responsible for initiation and preparation of AA RMF packages, ensuring CA and AA packages are maintained in a compliant status while verifying and validating that CA and AA package requirements and configuration modifications are performed and tested Responsible for conducting Validation and Risk Assessment activities in support of the customer (Validation Security Assessment Testing, System Risk Documentation, System Audits, Security Hardware and Software Testing) Assess and document risks in accordance with DoD and Navy policy and guidance Responsible for creating and providing all RMF appropriate artifacts and documentation necessary to plan and execute a thorough test of systems, document the system risks and report on the identified risks as necessary Develops and maintains AA documentation such as System Security Plans (SSP), Contingency Plans, Privacy Impact Assessments, and Plans of Action Milestones (POAMs) Responsible for analysis of security issues including architectures, firewalls, electronic data traffic and network access Works in collaboration with system owners, technical leads, cybersecurity staff, and other stakeholders to manage cybersecurity requirements Will provide final Security Assessment support and guidance Will conduct periodic auditing of RMF artifacts to ensure proper adherence to DoD instruction, Navy requirements, and NIST Responsible for enhancing the overall quality of RMF packages Requirements RequiredDesired Skills Bachelor's Degree in IT, Cyber Security, Computer Science, or related field preferred and 1-3 years of experience Minimum 2 years experience working as a NQV Level II 2+ years of experience, with at least one year of experience in some of the following areas CS policies, procedures, and processes, including RMF and NIST 800-53 Experience using tools such as EMass and STIGViewer Experience performing onsite cybersecurity assessments using standards such as CIS Benchmarks, DISA STIGS, etc. Broad technical experience related to IT operations, networks, OS's, and system administration Experience with JIRA ITSM helpful but not required Excellent customer service and organization skills Excellent verbal and written communication skills Must demonstrate proficiency in the following areas multitasking, critical thinking and the ability to work quickly, efficiently and accurately in a dynamic and fluid environment Ability to work both independently and as a member of a team Other requirements A strong sense of urgency including self-governance on task priority Eagerness to learn with a quality, detailed-focus is essential Ability to collaborate with awareness and responsiveness to customer needs Commitment to continuous development and improvement Must meet the requirements to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret clearance Ability to attain and maintain a United States Department of Defense security clearance 8570.01m compliance (IAT level II) is required and must be obtained prior to start date or within 60 days (Minimum Security+ and DB certification) Excellent interpersonal and communication (verbal and written) skills Travel as required Other Duties Please note this job description is not designed to cover or contain a comprehensive listing of activities, duties or responsibilities that are required of the employee for this job.
