SYSTEM ADMINISTRATOR:
Location: Charleston, SC with hybrid work schedule
The System Administrator will help design, implement and support the ongoing deployment and management of the Company's in-house computer hardware and software.
Essential Functions, Duties and Responsibilities


  • Planning and support of the following:

    • Servers (Virtual & Physical)
    • Disk Storage
    • Internal and External (co-location and cloud-based) Data Centers
    • Information Security
    • Hardware & Software Asset Management
    • Software Distribution and Patching
    • Email, SharePoint and other Office 365 Components
    • Hardware Lifecycle
    • Active Directory
    • Disaster Recovery
    • Backup/Recovery
    • System Architecture and Standards
    • Change Management Process
    • Capacity Planning


    • Backup for:
    • Core Network (Routers, Switches, Firewalls)
    • Wide Area Network
    • Site Local Area Networks
    • Wireless Networks
    • Voice and Data Communications

      Strategy & Planning

      • Along with other IT Teammates build the future vision of the IT infrastructure so that it closely aligns with the company's goals and objectives
      • Lead the technical direction to help drive the vision of a multi-year system, focusing on server hardware, security, and system stability
      • Planning & Deployment

        • Collaborate in the planning, design, and deployment of a new system architecture
        • Aid in the identification of future trends and technologies that can benefit the Company
        • Assist in creating RFP (Request for Proposal) to aid in the selection of the best products and services to meet Company's needs


        • Operational Responsibilities

          • Manage virtual datacenter environment and day-to-day relationship with vendor
          • Provide guidance, direction, and lead effort of Hardware/Software upgrades by conferring with vendors and business partners, developing, testing, evaluating, and installing enhancements
          • Create repeatable processes used to improve system availability and stability
          • Work with other team members to define, manage and implement projects within negotiated budget and time constraints
          • Serve as member of a team that provides 24 X 7 support for the IT infrastructure
          • Work closely with organization key managers to ensure that the IT infrastructure is adequately supporting business requirements and stay in close communication with key business stakeholders
          • Develop system configuration documentation for the IT Infrastructure
          • Manage key vendors to assist in accomplishing defined objectives
          • Serves as a resource for the Service Desk in resolving network and hardware related issues



            Minimum Requirements

            • Bachelor's Degree
            • Familiarity with ITIL concepts and implementation as it relates to Service Desk and infrastructure goals
            • Preferred Certifications Include:

              • Microsoft Certified Solutions Associate (MCSA) Certification Windows Server 2016
              • VMWare Certified Professional 6 - Data Center Virtualization (VCP6-DCV)
              • CompTIA Network+
              • CompTIA Security+


              • Experience with Windows Server 2016
              • Experience with Windows 10 administration
              • Experience with VMware View or other VDI platforms
              • Prior hands-on experience in the administration of servers, storage and network components. (Windows Server, VMWare and Cisco experience strongly preferred.)
              • Proven track record of delivering against commitments and leading projects designed to improve system security and reliability
              • Working knowledge in transitioning to Cloud Services such as DRaaS and IaaS
              • Experience designing and implementing systems which meet the company's needs
              • Experience with the design, development and implementation of software and hardware solutions
              • Ability to understand the company's goals and apply this understanding to effectively prioritize incoming work
              • Support 24x7x365 IT operations including on-call activities.

              • Ability to travel as required
