Job Description:

Job Summary:

The Technical Support Associate will provide technical assistance and answers to users' questions and assist employees and customers in troubleshooting and resolving computer-related issues.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

None

Duties/Responsibilities:

- Troubleshoot problems and perform minor repairs.

- Fields support calls, chat, email, and/or other communication from users with inquiries regarding software programming, connectivity, printing, and similar concerns.

- Assist with onsite and offsite meeting/event technical needs, including equipment, systems and network set-up.

- Ensure system functionality and system capacity by testing computer components.

- Applies knowledge of computer software, hardware, and procedures to solve problems.

- Guides users through diagnostic and troubleshooting processes, which may include use of diagnostic tools and software and/or following verbal instructions.

- Teach staff to use programs and technological areas of exhibits.

- Performs other related duties as assigned.

Required Skills/Abilities:

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
  • Professional and pleasant telephone manner.
  • Ability to explain technical issues to technical and nontechnical employees and customers.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
  • Proficient with or the ability to quickly learn an array of computer hardware and software. Education and Experience:
    • Associate's degree or above in Computer Science or related field preferred.
    • At least one year of experience in customer technical support highly preferred. Physical Requirements:

      - Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.

      - Must be able to bend, kneel, squa to perform tasks.
      • Must be able to work off of a ladder and from elevated positions.
        - Must be able to lift up to 30 pounds at times.

        - Work authorization/security clearance requirements.

        - The desired candidate must be eligible to work in the United States. IAAM does not

        provide sponsorship.
