Joye Law Firm is seeking to add an experienced Personal Injury Pre-Litigation Case Manager/Paralegal to our growing North Charleston and/or Summerville offices. The right candidate will be ready and able to provide world-class client service in a professional and empathetic and ethical manner to our clients. Joye Law Firms core values are: be a champion for others, be innovative, and be accountable. Duties and Responsibilities for our Pre-Lit Case Manager/Paralegal include the following:

  • Receives and returns client's calls, faxes, texts, and emails.
  • Reviews intake documents to ensure all information necessary to open a case in LawBase has been gathered (and takes the appropriate steps to obtain any missing information) before sending the PI Legal Assistants a request to complete the case opening.
  • Responsible for generating required personal injury forms and documents, revising or drafting documents as directed by supervising attorneys including, but not limited to, complaints, correspondence, demands, pleadings, and settlement documents in a timely fashion.
  • Keep thorough documentation of notes in the Case Management Software and complete various tasks as assigned by attorneys in a timely fashion.
  • Manage the scheduling of attorney calendars by sending requests for client meetings, doctor meetings, depositions, mediations, hearings, etc.
  • Manage the retrieval of necessary medical records by following procedures, documenting the record type and time period for which records are needed.
  • Maintain custody of the physical file. File and update records, correspondence and file documents in an orderly and organized manner per established office procedures. Maintain a clean and orderly work area.

Computer Skills: To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Microsoft Word; Microsoft Outlook and Needles Case Management software. Education/Experience: Associate's degree (A. A. / A. S.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or three to four years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
