Description:Analyze and prepare financial reports in an accurate and timely manner in accordance with Governmental Accounting Standards (GASB). Provide major assistance with the preparation of the Comprehensive Annual Financial Report, including preparation of statements and footnotes. Coordinate the provision of documentation and preparation of supporting workpapers, including trial balances and cash flow worksheets to the external auditors. Preparation of all applicable tax returns for corporate tax compliance; ensuring compliance with bond covenants and various management policies. This includes all forms 1120, 1065, 990, 990-T, and 5500. Design, implement and monitor compliance with internal control policies and procedures to safeguard assets and ensure that personnel and financial information is secure and stored in compliance with current legislation. Work with internal auditors to provide documentation and ensure audit results are accurate. Update internal controls to correct problem areas. Coordinate and manage special projects and other duties as assigned. This includes assisting Departments with their finance needs, providing requested reports and explanations for financial variances. Assist with preparation and monitoring of the annual budget process. Serve as backup to Assistant Controller and Director of Accounting and be the software expert for Finance team.
