Join our growing team at our 50-acre state-of-the-art manufacturing facility located on the Ridgeville Industrial Campus in Ridgeville, SC.Sundaram-Clayton USA, LLC, is a leading supplier of aluminum cast products to global automotive equipment manufacturers (OEM's). Our Ridgeville facility manufactures aluminum high-pressure, die-cast products and permanent mold gravity cast parts. Sundaram-Clayton USA, LLC is a part of the multi-billion dollar TVS Group, one of the largest automotive and automotive components manufacturing and distribution groups in India.PurposeThe Executive DM & IDM purchaser will be responsible for various child parts, Sub contracting, packaging and other non-alloy direct materials (along with associated in-bound transport, customs clearance activities) and will report to COO.Major Duties and Responsibilities Prepare material requirement plan (child parts, sub contract, packaging etc.) for every month based on MRP, input from production teams etc. (also compare the same with the yearly PP projections to check for major changes if any that may impact supplier capacities)Release schedules to suppliers every month and work on hands on expediting the parts.Ensure payments to suppliers are made on time, and have continuous interaction with finance for this objectiveAdopt to DWM where in which the status of all parts are displayed on a daily basis and counter measure for issues discussed and actionedCoordinate with in-house FDY and sub-contractors to ensure required castings are given in time as per the plan, and follow up with suppliers to expedite materials according to scheduleBe a part of the team along with supplier dev executive to create monthly supplier rating and also for supplier audits.Coordinate closely with customs clearance and clearing agent to clear all imports on time.Ensure DWM to track goods in transit at port, CFS and other clearance points.Responsible for all checking of bills for import clearance charges and for tracking the clearance charges (including port to transport and other associated charges). Also should present the same to HOD and move to finance will all back up and ensure on time payment of customs duties and other chargesResponsible for on time LC opening (coordinate between purchase, finance, banks) to ensure on time dispatch of materialWork with suppliers for cost reduction targets in child parts, sub contract, packaging etc.Take launch responsibility for new purchased parts and ensure supplier does on time PPAP for such partsEnsure stock at sub contract end is per the norms and ensure closure of MTR's and RGP as per the stipulated timeSupport local outbound to the extent of making rate contracts (outbound operations will be handled by marketing)Getting quotes from suppliers for direct materials & also indirect materialsNegotiation with suppliersCommunicating on quality issues and coordinating between quality department and supplierWorking closely with production team to draw up monthly/weekly/ daily requirementsRequirements Technical diploma in mechanical/electrical/automotive or Bachelor's degree preferredMinimum 6 Years hands on experience in purchasing functionAt least 3 years of the above experience should have been in Automobile/Auto component related purchasing function. 2 out of the 3 years of experience being spent in handling direct materials purchasingShould have handled at least 50 different item & should have handled at least 30 different suppliers at any given point of time SQA / STA experience preferredKnowledge on Automotive comp sourcesBasics of costingKnowledge of manufacturing processesOn hands experience using SAP/BAN/Oracle or an equivalent systemNegotiation skillsUnyielding drive to prevent production stoppage due to materialsHigh Customer FocusManufacturing Lean Certificate preferredMust be at least 18 years oldStrong attention to detailsExcellent interpersonal skillsAbility to work in a team environmentAbility to perform the essential functions of the job such as lifting and moving up to 50 lbs., standing for extended periods, bending, squatting or kneeling. -- - Availability to work any shiftAbility to pass a pre-employment drug screen, physical and background checkWe are an equal employment opportunity employer!!!Job Type: Full-timeBenefits:401(k)401(k) matchingDental insuranceHealth insuranceLife insurancePaid time offReferral programVision insuranceSchedule:Monday to FridayWork Location: One location
