The Shipboard Department consists of approximately 30 employees, some are land based at APS-3, but most are permanently performing duties aboard five Large Medium Speed Roll-on/Roll-off (LMSR) ships located in the Western Pacific and Indian Ocean theaters of operation. Mechanics provide Field Level Maintenance and surveillance on the full spectrum U.S. Military combat and tactical weapons systems, as well as other supporting equipment elements stored on board the vessel.Material Coordinator duties include but not limited to:The Material Coordinator position will monitor and make arrangements regarding various deployment training requirements for assigned personnel to assure compliance to regulatory and other requirements specified by KBR, OSHA, HSE, and USG directives. The Material Coordinator will arrange for a trainer, coordinates training dates, location, time, and targeted personnel. The Material Coordinator will assist in maintaining the deployment records database to include electronic and hard copy as needed or required. The Material Coordinator must be highly organized and be able to effectively communicate to all levels of the organization. The Material Coordinator must have good skills regarding various computer software including excellent word processing skills. The Material Coordinator coordinates and expedites flow of material within or between departments in accordance with deployment schedules or department managers' priorities. The Material Coordinator will monitor, control movement of material and perform inventory of deployment assets, to include computing amount of material needed for specific deployment contingency missions. The Material Coordinator will compile reports of quantity and type of material on hand, move or transport material from one department to another, using hand or industrial truck; uses stock records in order to locate material for deployment operations process, using computerized system. Provides guidance and training to equal or lower level deployment personnel. Specific Duties: Performs duties IAW documented polices, procedures, work instructions and verbal guidance from Deployment/Shipboard Manager. Responsible for updating/maintaining deployment operations Standing Operating Procedures (SOP), reviews, drafts revisions and interim changes, processes proposed changes through Quality/Auditor Section to publishing on I-Drive. Helps coordinate the various KBR APS-3 Employee Deployment Operations activities, plans and schedules training events, coordinates with training instructor and equipment support. Assists employees in preparation for deployment requirements Coordinates with safety, security, HSE, supervisors/leads, to identify deployment training needs in advance of future contingency missions, coordinates and schedules required training to ensure employees can perform duties when deployed to area of responsibility. Performs deployment record management IAW Record Control SOP APS-3 2706; monitors medical and training expiration, schedules medical clearance or re-training in advance of expiration. Performs deployment needs analysis, planning, design/development, delivery, and evaluation for a variety of deployment services. Other duties that may be assigned to meet company and departmental goals and objectives.This position is located in the Shipboard Operations Department afloat for the APS-3 Program, located on the Charleston Naval Weapons Station, Joint Base Charleston.Qualifications:+ High School diploma or equivalent - 2 years related experience+ GCSS Army knowledge preferred+ Computer skills: excellent working knowledge of MS Word, Excel, VISIO, Power Point and KBR APS-3 Employee Deployment Data Base.+ Excellent multi-tasking skills, ability to perform to standard several time-sensitive tasks simultaneously, ability to prioritize work.+ Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communications skills.+ Ability to interact professionally with all levels of employees, supervisors, leads, managers and customers.+ Ability to work independently; sound and timely decision-making skills.+ Valid state driver's license.+ Operate government owned vehicles (sedan, club cart, small pick-up trucks). Achieve Trustworthy Determination resulting from National Agency Check (Background Investigation) with waiver within thirty (30) days of hire.+ Achieve medical clearance for respirator wear and use.+ Knowledge of current Army Equipment preferred.Walking - between 4 to 5 hours per day Lifting - up to 50 lbs. periodically Squatting, kneeling, bending, reaching and climbing - periodically Work outside and inside in non-climate controlled environments.
