Job Description Qualifications:

Boeing Commercial Airplanes (BCA) is looking for a Mid-Level Quality Team Lead (Level C) to support the Midbody Team based out of North Charleston, South Carolina.

The Team Lead will be responsible for, but are not limited to, performing tasks in the following areas; pre-shift planning, crew meetings, team status updates, labor loss, production control, training, process improvement and Lean/BPS.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Verifies product conformance to design requirements
  • Provides objective evidence of results
  • Validates work instructions, tooling requirements, certifications, process standards, policies and procedures. Identifies and documents discrepancies and segregates and controls non-conforming items
  • Performs preliminary review and disposition of non-conformance
  • Conducts product review with customer during product or process verification
  • Identifies repetitive or significant non-conformances and initiates requests for corrective action
  • Engage with VST/LSCC and Chronic Issues Team (CIT) to drive area improvements
  • Builds effective resource plans that support SOW execution and milestone completion with team and crew coordination
  • Identifies and communicates risks to First Line Leader with efficiency
  • Plans, schedules, and arranges activities for their team. Assigns daily work. Leads team in daily safety check-in
  • Participates in determining details of assignments to accomplish a wide range of objectives
  • First Pass Quality is a top priority when work is reviewed for completion
  • Monitors and reports daily progress to plan across multiple functions
  • Works with support organizations and First Line Leader to mitigate performance risk
  • Documents and communicates shift turnover
  • Plan for work statement changes and daily/weekend/holiday overtime requirements
  • Responsible for crew level oversight of 5S
  • Support teammates to improve their job performance including identifying training and provide OJT
  • Primary support for customer item defect management
  • Support coordination with LSCC for non-conformance resolution
  • Support coordination efforts with vendor assists and repairs
  • Resolves problems during operation and testing of deliverable products
  • Documents repair, test, and inspection results
  • Verifies accuracy of work performed
  • Ability and professionalism in support of airline customer interaction
  • Identifies KPI and LMS Kaizan improvement actions, and follows up with actions and tasks associated at weekly Kamishibai and Gemba walks
  • Perform work when necessary to cover for absenteeism and to maintain build schedules This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options.

    This position must meet Export Control compliance requirements, therefore a "US Person" as defined by 22 C.F.R. - 120.15 is required. "US Person" includes US Citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.

    Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
    • 1+ years of experience in 787 Operations
    • Must maintain all necessary certifications to perform the job
    • Must be willing and able to work 2nd shift Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
      • 1+ years of Team Lead experience
      • 1+ years of experience with all forms of EPD generation. (NC/PU/SRR/Simple Repair/PU Revision, etc)
      • 1+ years of experience performing FOD & Tool control compliance checks Typical Education/Experience:
        Education/experience typically acquired through basic education (e.g. High School diploma/GED) and typically 4 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience (e.g. vocational school/Associate+2 years' related work, Bachelor, etc.).

        Relocation:
