Boeing Commercial Airplanes (BCA) is looking for an Associate Fabrication Specialist (Level B) to support the Machine Shop Team based out of North Charleston, South Carolina.

Successful candidates will have experience prepping and priming/painting metal surfaces with spray gun or manual application. Candidate will also have some CNC machine experience. Job will consist of applying various surface applications on aircraft parts. Job will also consist of operating a 5 axis CNC machine to fabricate flat fiberglass fillers.

Position Responsibilities :

• Applies routine organic coatings for corrosion protection and appearance requirements
• Performs machine set-up, machining, welding set-up, welding, sheet metal fabrication and extrusion, tube bending and fabrication tasks
• Assembles precision mechanical and electro-mechanical components
• Assembles, repairs, modifies and installs various power plants and drive trains
• Prepares test articles, fixtures and data collection devices to perform various tests
• Performs basic organic chemical conversion and paint preparation
• Works on articles of limited complexity following established drawings and requirements This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options.

  Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
  • 1+ years of experience in aerospace or automotive paint application, paints & coatings, and/or inorganic chemical processes
  • 1+ years of experience in fabrication
  • Ability to work 2nd shift as required by this position Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
    • Aerospace, Fabrication, or Manufacturing experience
    • Experience in a team environment
    • Formal/Informal Team Leadership experience
      
      Typical Education/Experience:
      Education/experience typically acquired through basic education (e.g. High School diploma/GED) and typically 1 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience (e.g. vocational school/Associate).
