-is currently seeking Aircraft Assembler Mechanics (Level B) to
assist with multiple areas of the production system while working
on different airplane programs throughout your career -North
Charleston, South Carolina on a Variable Shift!As an Aircraft
Assembly Mechanic B you will work within a manufacturing assembly
environment by drawing on knowledge acquired from training and
certification classes to complete your daily assigned work. By
interpreting drawings and reading/comprehending work instructions
you will be responsible for identifying your work (task) location
on the airplane/part/tooling and identifying all required hand
tools, parts and equipment to accomplish defect-free work.Primary
Responsibilities: - - -
- Must have the ability to complete the New Hire Training Cycle
Flow to obtain and maintain all required certifications.
- Use a computer in a production environment.
- Look up/read/comprehend technical work instructions, drawings
and/or specifications.
- Install various parts and assemblies such as brackets,
fittings, angles, frames, splices, etc.
- Appropriate protective clothing/equipment determined by the
task you are performing.
- Various tools such as Rivet gun and bucking bar, screwdrivers,
lock bolt puller, power screwdriver, Huck Gun pullers, Hi-speed and
Lo-speed drills, Pneumatic and electric drills, C-squeeze, ratchet
wrench, nut runner, Winslow, 90-Degree Power Vane, or Quackenbush
and various other hand tools and measuring tools.
- Operate mechanical lifts of various types (e.g. JLGs, Magic
Carpets, and scissor lifts).
- Routing of wire harness to supports.
- Installing connectors to receptacles and electronic
components.
- Fiber optic clean and inspection, light loss testing, routing
and installation.
- Chemical solvents, sealants, coatings, primers, adhesives,
paints and special finishes.
- Working around energized sources (electrical equipment and
hazards/shock, e.g. circuit breakers and wiring) and exposure to
constant noise.
- Inspect your work quality and check for FOD (Foreign Object
Debris).
- Capable of operating, but not limited to, heavy machinery such
as cranes, stands, movers, lifts, etc.
- Inspect to ensure First Pass Quality (FPQ) is attained per
engineering drawings and specifications.
- Finger manipulation (keyboarding, other).
- Reading from a computer screen, printed drawings or
documents.
- Ability to adhere to high standards of Safety and Compliance to
regulation.
- Verify and ensure FAA compliance with Quality Management
System. - -This position is expected to be 100% onsite. - The
selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the
listed location options.This position must meet export control
compliance requirements. To meet export control compliance
requirements, a "U.S. Person" as defined by 22 C.F.R. -120.15 is
required. - "U.S. Person" includes U.S. Citizen, lawful permanent
resident, refugee, or asylee. - Basic Qualifications (Required
Skills/ Experience):
- Ability to work a variable shift (1st, 2nd, or 3rd).
- 6 months of aviation experience (school included).
- 6 months of experience utilizing and following detailed work
instructions, reading and interpreting blueprints, drawings, or
specifications, in English.
- 6 months of experience with pneumatic (hand/air)
tools.Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
- Must be able to complete and maintain Confined Space and Fall
Protection Certifications.
- Ability to adhere to high standards of Safety and Compliance to
regulation.
- Carrying/Lifting up to 10-35 pounds.
- Ability to work with High Hazard Chemicals.
- Flexion/Extension (head bent down, head bent back), Handling,
Kneeling, Bending at the waist, Reaching (overhead), Rotation of
head/neck, Standing, Twisting at the waist and walking.
- Climbing/balancing (stairs, ladders, poles, scaffolding,
inclined surfaces), Crawling, Crouching (squatting).
- Use of high impact vibratory tools (bucking/riveting).Typical
Education/Experience:Education/experience typically acquired
through basic education (e.g. High School diploma/GED) and
typically 1 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent
combination of education and experience (e.g. vocational
school/Associate).Relocation:Relocation assistance is not a
