Job Description:

We are a small company that is growing! Satchel Construction is a licensed General Contracting company that has been servicing the area for over 10 years. We are currently looking to add an Estimator to our team. The Estimator will primarily focus on generating new opportunities in the commercial private sector for plan and spec leads on competitive bids projects.

Primary Responsibilities
Daily duties may include, but are not limited to:
Collect new bidding opportunities and provide pre-construction services from concept through project award
Analyze drawing, specifications, and other documentation to prepare comprehensive costs estimates.
When necessary, refer to previous projects of similar nature for cost comparison.
Use mathematical equations to determine the quantity of material needed by calculating width, length, depth, and density.
Demonstrate a thorough understanding of the scope for specific skills assigned.
Prepare, issue, receive and review supplier and subcontractor proposals and pricing.
Perform and evaluate quantity takeoffs.
Assists in the development of post-bid presentations.
Maintain files of working documents as back-up for estimate figures.
Maintain and establish new client relationships
Support other department personnel as required.
Requirements:
Knowledgeable about the commercial construction industry including construction cost, materials, products, methods and procedures.
Ability to multi-task and prioritize several tasks without compromising quality of work or project deadlines.
Proven organization skills in a high paced work environment.
Must be proficient with computer systems and software.
Strong written, verbal, and organizational communication skills.
3-5 years of estimating experience
Honest, trustworthy, hardworking, with willingness to learn
Live within the Charleston area
Must have own personal vehicle
Light travel is required
Flexible schedule as required
