POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES

• Complete data acquisition using single beam survey equipment for bathymetric surveys.
  
• Processing of bathymetric survey data for analysis by engineering staff to conduct project planning.
  
• Determine surveying requirements prior to project start up for accurate bid pricing and survey needs.
  
• Complete accurate and timely structures and grading stakeout using a variety of survey equipment for support of field supervision.
  
• Diagnose any issues with survey equipment malfunctions and communicate these problems to manufacturers for troubleshooting and repair.
  
• Coordinate with outside survey companies for any required as-builts and preconstruction surveys in order to meet required project specifications.
  
• Perform all other duties as required by Supervisor within the physical constraints of the job.
  
  MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
  
  
  • Associates degree in Land Surveying or a related field such as Engineering Technology.
    
  • Two (2) years experience in construction; preferred but not required.
    
  • Experience operating and maintaining boats; preferred but not required.
    
  • Must have strong software and computer skills required to operate survey equipment.
    
  • Must have strong communication skills in order to communicate findings from surveys to engineering and field supervision staff

    • Able to follow directions.
      
    • Ability to meet attendance schedule with dependability and consistency.
      
    • Team player with strong interpersonal skills

    • Dedicated and hard working
      
    • Willing to work out of town and travel to project locations.
      
    • Valid Driver's License and reliable transportation.
      
    • Drug Free.
      
      WORK ENVIRONMENT/PHYSICAL DEMANDS
      
      Capable of working outside or on the water in variable climates, traversing large active construction sites, and working around welding, cutting, grinding, marine vessels, heavy equipment, cranes, dirt, dust, noise, and vibrations. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands, arms, shoulders, legs, reach with hands and arms and verbally communicate clearly. The employee is sometimes required to climb or balance. Ability to lift and or carry 50 lbs.
