Provide specialized nursing care in the Operating Room by utilizing professional nursing theory and practices, following South Carolina Nurse Practice Act guidelines. This contract position is based in North Charleston, SC, offering an opportunity to contribute to high-quality patient care in a dynamic surgical environment. Key Responsibilities: Conduct thorough patient assessments covering physical, psychological, socio-cultural, spiritual, cognitive, and functional needs; communicate findings clearly. (20%) Plan, prioritize, and continuously evaluate patient care, incorporating patient and family input to ensure optimal outcomes. (20%) Demonstrate clinical proficiency in operating room nursing practices according to departmental standards. (10%) Assess and address patient and family educational needs; collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to deliver effective teaching and evaluate learning outcomes. (10%) Identify and manage ethical issues in patient care with respect, cultural sensitivity, and adherence to patient rights. Serve as an ethical resource when needed. (10%) Facilitate multidisciplinary communication and coordination with physicians and healthcare professionals to optimize patient care planning and delivery. (10%) Advocate actively for patient needs and ensure a supportive, non-judgmental care environment. (10%) Ensure compliance with regulatory standards, safety protocols, core measures, and quality initiatives to maintain excellent clinical and organizational outcomes. (10%) Perform additional duties as assigned that support patient care and departmental goals.
